**DEADLINE EXTENDED TO JUNE 12th, 2023!** We’re still accepting creative proposals centered around “art+community” for our first TN Zine! We want to see your poetry, essays, illustrations, recipes, letters, self-portraits, and more. Use your creative voice and tell us how community grounds, inspires, and educates you. Open to artists of all different experience levels, who work in different mediums. We encourage collaboration on pieces, as well! Connie K. Lim, better known by her stage name MILCK @milckmusic, has been a long time community member and occasional featured artist at Tuesday Night Cafe. From her first feature at TNC, she has come into her own voice, leading to the critical acclaim of her song “Quiet” during the 2017 Women’s March. The track landed at No. 2 on NPR’s Year in Music list and was featured as part of NPR’s American Anthem series. Her music calls for the self-reflection, healing, and change that speak to the hopeful parts of us. As a gesture of gratitude and reverence to the movement, MILCK started the #ICANTKEEPQUIET fund to benefit nonprofits that are working tirelessly to collaborate with underrepresented communities with the goal of amplifying their unique voices. We have been fortunate to be one of only 3 organizations that MILCK has chosen to receive a portion of the proceeds. Our relationship has grown over the years, and with her dedication and commitment through many seasons of TNC we have been able to create a space for all our artists to thrive. Alongside many others in the TNP network of artists, she has gone above and beyond with her support of our fundraising efforts and fellow artists. We consider her a part of the TN Family for life, as we do so with anyone that joins our community, We are grateful for her partnership and the above-and-beyond support she gives to us and so many!
